There are accounts of our teuchter ancestors behaving much like that you know. Though they would doubtless have had the man carried on the woman's shoulders.
My vote goes to Ireland - he is obviously quite obnoxious if she needs that much booze to cope with him...

I have no kids, and none of them are school age, so I don't think it's my place to speculate.
