Joke of the Day (for a few days ago)

Q: Why do people write "F*ck the Pope" on the walls of public conveniences?

A: Because they can't be bothered to write "F*ck the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland".

Or they might, if it had been this amiable gentleman who had made a passing reference to something in an obscure speech in a language you don't understand in a place you've even heard of let alone been to.

Because they "can" or "can't" be bothered?

Actually its an advert, and he's awfully upset that so few people have taken him up on it. It seems somebody keeps removing the telephone number. Obviously the result of a conspiracy involving Opus Dei and some giant lizards.

The version I know is a little more pointed:

How do you know that Celtic supporters are more intelligent than Rangers supporters?

Because any fool can spray "f*** the Pope", but it takes brains to spray "f*** the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland"

Jesus put the Christ in Christmas. Who put the pap in papist?

Where I come from it's "Fuck the Pope". I think "f*ck" is an acceptable cultural variant, popular among the more polite of society, but not so popular with the youfs who engage in such activities mentioned.

For those of Caathlic predilections, there is the graffito: "Fuck the queen". Which I imagine is more suited to them and their limited vocabulary and scope of understanding on the issue than wishing all those denominations outwith orthodox Catholicism be fucked.
